F.A.Q.

How do I prepare for filming?

Get comfortable! Pick a location in your home that you are most relaxed in, while wearing clothes that you feel confident and comfortable in. If there are specific topics you would like to discuss, write down some notes and let us know so we may incorporate them. That's it! We provide you with the rest.

Do I need to think of questions to ask?

We provide a list of questions that create a dialogue. If there are specific topics you would like to discuss, please let us know and we will incorporate them in our guided questions.

Where are you located? Will you travel?

We are located in the southwest of Montreal, Québec and travelling within a general radius of 20kms is included in our prices. We will happily travel further than that! Please contact us with a location and we will let you know of any additional fees.

When is the right time to create a legacy film?

As we all know, time flies. Here are some life events that may inspire you to get one done:

  • Celebrating our parents and/or grandparents anniversaries or birthdays

  • Milestone birthdays

  • Birth of a new family generation

  • Significant life transitions

Who owns the footage?

You do. It's your video and you can do what you would like with it. If, for any reason, we would like to share a snippet or a portion of your film, we will always ask your permission first.

Can I incorporate old photos/old films in the legacy film?

The additions of photos and old film are most suitable for a DocuEdit film. Please contact us to find out more.

What is the difference between 2 and 3 storytellers? Can there be more than 3?

Regularly, two storytellers are a couple, however, that isn't always the case. Sometimes, the living members who would like to create a legacy film are surviving siblings or children. If you are more than three, please contact us for more information.

What is 4K?

4k video is a substantial step up from 1080p, with four times the resolution of 1080p. On a screen, 4k video contains more than 8 million pixels compared to just 2 million pixels for 1080p. Eventually, 4K will be the new HD.

How will I receive my film?

You will receive a link to your final film to download. If you would rather a DVD or a USB with the film on it, that can be arranged at an additional cost.

Why should I invest in a legacy film?

As we know, life is short and anything can happen at any time. Through this investment, you can make sure that your story or your family members' story is preserved for future generations to come and it can also serve as a future comfort to your loved ones.
